    What is eResearch?

What is eResearch? Information technology allows research to enter a fourth paradigm of data intensive research and collaboration.

    eResearch Support Services and Infrastructure

The Division of Technology, Information and Learning Support (TILS) provides eResearch support through, Information Technology Services (High Performance Computing and Research Support) and the Library. These areas provide expertise and advanced technologies supporting research activities from research design to scholarly publishing.

High Performance Computing and Research Support (HPC)

Assist with data collection, modelling and analysis support, along with statistical and qualitative data analysis tools. Through visualisation, HPC can improve efficiency and effectiveness of data processing and generation through:

HPC also create computer generated data visualisations, high quality graphics and the production of high quality scientific animations.

    Library

Advice on research publication, impact and measurement, including open access publishing (QUT ePrints) and the QUT Digital Repository. The Library also offers advice and support with research data management including:

Representatives from the support areas and the eResearch Working Party pro-actively develop policy, infrastructure and support of eResearch activities at QUT.

    Research partners

QUT partners with Queensland Cyber Infrastructure Foundation to provide advanced research collaboration tools and services, including EVO, the Data Fabric, Compute Cloud, GRID facility (supported by TILS).
