Project Approach
Figure 1 outlines the two key stages of the project. Stage 1 was the implementation of a series of mobility trials to test the impact of specific mobile practices on staff productivity and set directions for the mainstreaming of mobility across both universities. From January to May 2008 6 mobility trials were conducted across Griffith University and QUT. In June 2008, the results of these trials, together with an organisational framework for mobility, led to the following mainstreaming decisions.
- The implementation of mobile work practices in a cross-faculty Research Institute and other units in order to embed mobility within university elements, establish best practice in mobile work and further refine methods for measuring staff productivity.
- The development and release of an integrated package of mobility offerings, training, support and planning via a staff mobility website.
The project’s Research Team has applied their multi dimensional model of measuring productivity to conduct a detailed evaluation of staff productivity gains.

Project Schedule
The mainstreaming phase of the project began in July 2008. On the 26th of October the project released the Mobile Technologies and Practices Websites for both QUT and Griffith University. The project completed on the 30th of June 2009. Figure 2 outlines the project work breakdown structure for stage 2 of the project.
