Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) Project – Retrofitting University Learning Spaces
Retrofitting University Learning Spaces project aims to provide the higher education sector with a learning space design framework for the cost effective retrofitting of existing learning spaces. Cost effectiveness is increasingly becoming a high priority on university agendas, given the impact of the global financial crisis. Cost effective redevelopment will be achieved through the definition, implementation and modelling of an integrated set of design principles developed across three partner institutions – Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Charles Darwin University (CDU) and Edith Cowan University (ECU).
The colloquium will present the results of each institution’s case studies as well as providing participants with an engaging workshop experience. The workshops are designed to bring together participants’ ideas through active discussion about the learning space design principles.
